PAY RULES WITH RATES AND FACTORS UNDER PHILIPPINE LABOR CODE

Pay rules are some of the challenging subjects that employers and/or business have to deal with in the Philippines.

What makes this interesting is that the pay rates change depending on whether the day falls on a regular holiday, double regular holiday, and rest day. The rates for overtime and night shift differential are also different. These too change depending on whether the day falls on regular holiday, double regular holiday, and rest day.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) came up with the rates to facilitate computation. Below is the matrix I made based on the DOLE Handbook of Benefits 2019 Edition:
